I was going up the stairs today, and as i made a turn to climb up the second flight of stairs, something remarkable struck me. I was not even thinking about climbing up. My mind was almost on autopilot. I did not tell myself to turn or for that matter was not even telling myself to lift my feet to climb up each step. It was an amazing phenomena.

Our brain can do so much! It can remember, it can execute without flaw!  Then when i went up to my class, i was sitting there listening to a student reciting from her memory from any where i asked between a 120 pages of memorized Quran! simply amazing!

Moharram ulHaraam

Moharram ulHaraam is around the corner.

Seasons bring in such joy! Where I live, we have summer, monsoons, and a little bit of a lesser hot summer (some people like to call it winter). Regardless, every new season, or change of a season brings with it a different sort story, a different joy, and always something to look forward to.

I love it when monsoon arives after a hot summer. When the winter arrives after that, I  so look forward to it getting chilly. It doesn’t get so cold here in Surat, but at least it gets pleasant. Hence just as how birds like to fly south in winter i like to fly north whenever i get the chance. To me the best thing about winter is the winter clothes. I think we men look our smartest when wearing jackets and sweaters.

These are seasons that come along with the rotation of the planets and skies; and there are seasons that revolve around our culture, beliefs and ideologies.

Pancakes and Waffles

It was sunday morning and I had to have pancakes. We tried out a recipe available online. Really enjoyed the fluffy and tasty stuff. It was the white pan.. that got a little stained that was alarming…otherwise.. the whole experience was enjoyable.. Sent some to a few friends and family..

We now plan to go the beach… its a little far.. but I beleive you need to get out!! Its hot.. but the view at the beach.. will be charming hopefully and the trip worthwhile hence.

Small regular outings are good for health.. mental and physical.. even spiritual.. If only the roads were better here… and yes also.. small helpings of regular… feel good food.. is also good for all the things I mentioned earlier..

Horses

I used to ride when i was younger. We used to go to the ameature riders club at mahalaxmi mumbai. I would get up early in the morning, and go to the club first to choose which horse i would ride that morning.
There was a black stallion. We all loved that horse. Then there was one named pandora, he was a funny one, he had two colours on his body.

Saifee Villa is a beautiful house, standing tall in the beautiful city of Colombo. I have been there many times, lived there for a couple of days. Really enjoyed the stay.

Its getting warmer

The temperature across the world is rising. Weather patterns are going haywire. The future is uncertain. What should we as individual human beings do to help

Blogging

It is a refuge. I hope people actually get the time to read everything thats on the internet nowadays. So many people sharing their ideas in a very unique way. Some do it just for the sheer fun of it. Some do it for commercial gains, some for fame, some just to reach out to whoever they can.

I write on this blog mostly considering it as a note taker; As a dashboard for my opinions. A friend of mine introduced me to this site, and I am forever thankful towards him. I can see my thoughts like this clearly. Things that I don’t mind sharing with the world appear in front of my eyes with clarity. I realize that what i write on these blogs are things that I firmly believe in. These thoughts are those that I have no fear in declaring in public. What comes on the screen is a part of me.

The last LIONS

Saw a documentary on National Geographic about Lions and their survival. Its a tough life. Wonderfully done film. I cant understand how they have managed to get so many angles of those kills. Simply amazing work. It was just like a feature film, with a plot a story, a climax and an end. I mean to do something like that with live animals in the wild is outstanding work.

I would love to go out in the wild one day and shoot a safari film. I had always had a dream of making something like that. Documentaries are my passion. If I had a choice I would put everything aside and just make films. I have to work on that. Lets see what comes ahead.

The documentary said in fifteen years there will be 8 billion Human Beings living on the face of earth and today there are only 20 thousand lions left in the wild. 8 billion with all their mess! We need to change our lifestyle! We need to put an end to this madness! we need to be better citizens of the world. We cant be so irresponsible! It is our duty to protect, and if nothing.. the least we could do is not to harm!

Coffee Ice-cream

I love coffee ice-cream. There is a posh coffee house at the Taj in Mumbai called the Sea Lounge. We used to love to go there whenever we got a chance to have coffee ice cream, and a view of the great harbor seas of Mumbai. The name was very interesting too. It was Viennese (we used to pronounce it as vianoise, or maybe it is spelt like that.. I dont remember the spellings from the menu, i just remember the creamy taste). Another thing some of us loved to have over there was five star bhel puri. One plate costing around 300 rupees, whereas you could get one of those in less than 20 or 30 maybe outside. To have bhel puri the common street food of india in a five star plate in a five star hotel was something different, an experience in itself.

I havent been to that place since a very long time. Sea lounge was our hang out place. There is a shop called Nalanda on the ground floor, My mother used to take me there. Wonderful books. My mother is all about books, and reading and getting to know the world, and getting creative. I simply admire her passion towards knowledge and creativity. She always finds happiness in the written word.

Surat too makes one of the finest creamy coffee ice creams ever. Badshaah and Kings make delicious ice creams. They dont always have it in stock but when they do they know where its going to go. Its going to go straight to my fridge. I tried baskin’s coffee, but no where in comparison with Kings of Badshah. These two are like the giants of ice cream next to where i stay in Zampa Bazar Surat. They have loads of orders, in the gallons and gallons.

So long is there ice cream in this world I love it!!
